"We'd love to see him defend his title on September 12 in Riyadh, where we'll be hosting an epic showdown: Mexico vs. The World. The main event? None other than the return of Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez."
And here's where it gets interesting: Alvarez, with an impressive record of 63-3-2 (39 KOs), has declared his return to the ring in September, exactly a year after he lost the undisputed 168lbs championship to Terence 'Bud' Crawford. This sets the stage for a potential clash of titans.
Figueroa, a Mexican American, would be fighting outside the US for the second time consecutively if he accepts the invitation. At 27-2-1 (20 KOs), he has spent most of his career stateside, with only a handful of fights abroad. But this opportunity could be a game-changer, especially considering his roots.
However, the path to this fight wasn't without its twists. Queensberry Promotions managed to secure the mandatory WBA featherweight title fight for Ball, giving him a home advantage for the third time in his last four fights.
