Toyota's Raize GR Sport: A Stylish Upgrade, But Performance Lacks?
The Toyota Raize GR Sport is a budget-friendly subcompact SUV designed for Southeast Asian markets, featuring a sharp new bodykit and black interior. While it may look the part, there's a catch: the performance remains unchanged. The Raize GR Sport is powered by the same 97 hp turbo 1.0-liter engine as the standard model, with no suspension or steering tweaks to enhance its sportiness.
Despite the addition of a GR-branded steering wheel with paddle shifters and a "power" mode button, the Raize GR Sport is still priced higher than the standard Raize. This raises questions about the value proposition for buyers, especially considering the lack of performance upgrades.
The Raize GR Sport's price in Indonesia ranges from Rp292,100,000 to Rp317,100,000, making it more expensive than the Daihatsu Rocky with the same engine and transmission. This price difference may be a significant factor for buyers, as it could be better spent on other features or upgrades.
While the Raize GR Sport may look the part, its performance and price may leave something to be desired. It remains to be seen whether buyers will be willing to pay the premium for this model, especially given the lack of performance enhancements.
